A:Answer yes- I did use it on regular plush carpets , not just a rug a full room , and it cleaned and left the room smelling clean, of course i think you should only use it for quick clean ups in between full carpet cleaning because I doubt it is powerful enough to extract all the water from the rug and you might want to be cautious on how much soap you use so your carpets not sticky but for a light surface clean it works and left my room smelling clean.
