- Answer Testing by the accredited CAS Test Technical Services measured a 99.99% removal rate of the 12 most common viruses and bacteria by the Classic 280i and Classic 480i, including swine flu (H1N1), E. coli, and Enterovirus (EV71). Internal tests also measured 99% of germs were killed by Blueair Classic family - leaving the bacteria and viruses unviable and unable to reproduce. Our products have not yet been tested against the novel coronavirus.

- Answer It has a blue or black elastic wrap that you can use. Does not cover the whole purifier, just the bottom half.

QuestionHi - I can't tell from the picture on how you operate this device. To change the settings, does it use a dial, raised buttons, touchscreen, etc? I ask because I want to get it for a blind friend and want to be sure it is tactile and user friendly. Thanks!

- Answer Yes I understand and appreciate your concern for your friend. This unit is extremely "all"user friendly. The large soft touch control button on the unit controls all functions. Your blind friend will hear the fan speed change as he or she touches the button. Suggest that a sighted person assist your friend with initial set-up then it'll be a breeze after that.

QuestionAccording to many sites thec211 plus does not have a carbon filter. I have owned the 211 plus and 411 and can still pick up smells in my 750 sq ft house. Is there a carbon for smells? What is the micron size?

QuestionFollow-up question. Earlier question was about holding down the button for 3 seconds after changing the filter. Response was to hold down the button for 15 seconds. Well, that didn't work either. So my, do I have a faulty product? And can you help?

QuestionI just changed my filter when the new filter arrived. I pressed the top button down and held id there for 10 seconds. I set it at the lowest speed. But when on the lowest speed the filter blue light turns off, whereas on the higher speeds it stays on.

QuestionI bought this filter in September 2020 but did not use it. Now I'm suffering from bad allergies and am going to try this. I don't see any reason to change filters until I actually use it consistently, so if light changes I can just reset?

- Answer Hi, that is perfectly fine since the filter that comes with the air purifier is brand new out of the box. The filter change indicator light is on a timer therefore you can simply reset it and it will remind you to replace your filter in 6 months.

QuestionI recently changed the filter, cleaned and dusted the entire unit (Blue Air 211+) and the red light stays on. I've pressed and held the button for 5 seconds, and 30 seconds, and there was no flash and no turning back to white? Is it broken?

- Answer It sounds as if you need to reset your filter timer and we are happy to help! After 5 months of continual use, your filter light will turn yellow. This indicates that it will be time for your filter change in one month, and it is time to order a new filter. After 6 months of continual use, your filter light will then turn from yellow to red indicating it is time to change the filter. Turn on the unit and press and hold the main button for 10-45 seconds until the light disappears.

QuestionWould this device absorb the scent given off by a reed diffuser? I want the benefits of an air purifier but it would be disappointing if the smell from, say, a Glade wall plug-in or oil diffuser, was also absorbed.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in Blueair. The purifier will absorb VOCs like smoke and odors so some of the smell of the reed diffuser and Glade wall plug in would be absorbed. An example I give is that I use a candle in my room and while it is lit I enjoy the scent, but with the purifier the fragrance does not linger for hours after lighting with my purifier as it would without an air purifier.

- Answer Make sure that you order the filter with the carbon filter included. It is the carbon filter that will help trap chemical outdoors from mold. Living mold will also shed spores and though these will be more effectively be reduced by the white filter, their presence in the air should be removed by dealing with the dampness that allows the mold to grow a.s.a.p.
