• Yes, there are three settings. I use it on the highest setting in my bedroom. Both my wife and I enjoy the white noise.

• Yes. While our air purifiers are considered very quiet when running on low speed, you can still notice a light whirling from the fan. If you wish to put the air purifier on it's highest fan speed it will make a much more audible white noise.
