• The Bose unit will play comfortably loudly. I use a Fender Mustang III amp and Les Paul to play along with it. No, you will not get concert type loudness out of it, but if you set your guitar amp at a lower output, the audio is plenty enough to play along with. Your best bet would be to go and hear the loudness of the Bose unit in person and see if it will meet your needs.

• Not sure how to objectively answer your question so I'll give you my subjective assessment. I can't turn the SoundTouch 20 up all the way and stay in the same room with it. This speaker is astounding loud and clear for its size.
