    Great sound

I originally purchased the Soundtouch 10 as I thought it would meet my needs. I live in a condo and have a small living room. The Soundtouch 10 was returned shortly after getting home, setting it up and listening to it. I purchased the Soundtouch 20 series III in it's place and am very happy with it. It has WiFi and bluetooth connectivity which gives me a range of options. Setup took all of 10 minutes and that included signing into my Pandora, Spotify and iHeart radio accounts. Sound is superb, full and rich. Much better than the Soundtouch 10. I also connect my Macbook Pro to the unit via bluetooth so I can listen to the music collection in iTunes. The remote that comes with the unit is fine but I am using my Harmony remote with it and the Harmony controls everything just fine. Overall I am very happy with the unit. The sound quality is much better than the Soundtouch 10. I would not recommend the Soundtouch 10 to anyone unless they are trying to use it in a room the size of a closet. The Soundtouch 20 more than fills my living room with high quality sound. My only gripe is I wish the unit would display the time of day (digital clock) when it's powered off. Nice job Bose, I am very happy with this purchase!

I am a Bose fan and when I found out that they have wifi speaker, I was hooked. I use my Soundtouch 20 every day. But let's be fair and compare its features. The presets are nice feature, where you don't even need to have your phone around and you just need to press the preset to listen to your playlists. Note that it only store 1 playlist into each preset number. Bluetooth is nice. I connect my Lenovo Horizon 27 All-In-One PC to the speaker via bluetooth. Every time I turn on my computer, or wake it up from standby, it connects to the speaker right away. (Also a bad thing when I'm listening to my Spotify, the music was interrupted and it connects to the PC which has no sound yet, until you play something. If I want to go back to my Spotify, I just hit 1 of the preset number). The remote is a good thing to have. You can press 1 of the 6 presets, pause music, or skip to next song. It does not need direct contact to the speaker to work. I have not tried the Airplay feature yet so not sure how it works. It has a AUX connection, which is good to connect your TV or other source to the speaker. And don't forget, this one has the quality sound, which is expected from Bose. You can adjust the Base from the controller App. No treble adjustment, however. No distortion when turn on max. It is overall a nice sound in a nice package. Now my only problem is to fork out $200 for another Soundtouch speaker :-(

I have purchased the Bose Wave, 10 and 20 for my home audio system, and now about to purchase the 30. The sound quality just can't be beat, from the smallest speaker and up. However, I do NOT love the Soundtouch App--I spend way too much time reinstalling it because after some time it doesn't recognize my speakers. Total craziness. Anyway, because the product is great and works beautifully when it does work, I am going to take some time and get on the phone with Bose (per the instructions in this forum) and have someone walk me through the process. I have avoided calling because I don't have the time to spend on this issue. I have called before but that was at initial setup and not to this degree. Since I can also use the speakers separately, that is an option that I choose regularly. Each speaker has 6 presets so it allows for tons of stations if you have multiple speakers plus Pandora, Spotify (my favorite), SiriusXM and others. When it's time for a party, I MUST have the full blowout sound playing simultaneously (for indoors and out) and it does not disappoint--I really don't even need all of the speakers for this effect. I don't think the competition can measure up; I spent a lot of time going back and forth trying to decide before purchasing. The speakers are sleek, gorgeous and fit in most spaces with a rich, crisp sound. I made the right decision...

+++++ +Easy set-up with the app...set up 4(3 20's, 1 10)...from the app you can control alot(volume, on/off, groupings, content)...the app. loads to mutilple devices with your settings, etc( I have the app. loaded to 2 samsung tablets) +Presets allow for immediate loading of content....(Your Stations) +Great separation of instruments, voices...pure, true to the recording...classic Bose approach to delivery of music...full and robust... +Has an Aux for a 3.5mm headphone connection...using 1(20 SoundTouch) for my kitchen TV...dialogue and sounds are clear and pleasing to the ear....balanced delivery...including Spurs Games... +Bluetooth connection on each device is a plus... ------(minuses) -Fear if the app. crashes....time to troubleshoot and set up again...My hope is that the app. is stable even with updates(I'll find out)... -No control of bass & treble...You better like Boses' Engineers approach to music and sound... -No portable unit to take outside...10's, 20's all need to be plugged in... -Cannot play some music thru the Entire System...open source, YouTube, etc...You could connect 1 device to the BlueTooth but not the system..can only use/access content within the app.(Internet Radio, Sirius) even Amazon Music within the app. is limited to their playlists(cannot access my purchased music from my tablet...thru a computer? Thank you for being a loyal Bose customer. We appreciate the detailed review explaining the many ways in which you are enjoying our SoundTouch speakers. There are a few things that we'd like to help with. The bass on these speakers is adjustable through the SoundTouch app. In the SoundTouch app, choose EXPLORE > SETTINGS > System settings. Select the system to adjust. In the BASS ADJUSTMENT section, use the + and - buttons to adjust the bass level. We also have a helpful article to help with Bluetooth rebroadcasting for any music source:  http://bit.ly/1YPpS2v If you'd like help making that happen, you can reach our dedicated line for Soundtouch wireless specialists at 800-905-2156 and we’ll be able to help you with that. I was at a Best Buy store when deciding to purchase a speaker system and the sales person DID NOT recommend Bose, saying that it was not that good and was difficult to set up! He was pushing the Sono Sound System pretty hard. I used the demonstration feature at the store and thought the sound was good. My first purchase was the smaller Bose Soundtouch which is good, but moved that unit to my bedroom and purchased the next larger unit for my kitchen/familyroom area. What I like about the Bose system is: 1. Easy to set up 2. I can play different music in different rooms or I can have them play the same music at the same time 3. With the app, I can turn on the music using my iphone and adjust the sound or shut one or both speakers off 4 The sound is really good for the price 5. The fact that I can add to this system 6. I can turn the unit on or off using the button on the speaker unit and change my music using the preset buttons (great when I don't have my phone near by) 7. With this larger unit, it will show the name of the song playing and the artist. Overall very please with Bose and may continue to add to this system. I am so glad that I did NOT listen to the Best Buy salesperson and did my homework by reading the reviews and trusted my instincts!

I have an old original SoundLink....and I have a new Soundlink Mini II that I absolutely love (great for travel/staying in a hotel room - great speakerphone, too.). After deciding that I wanted streaming music capability beyond pairing my phone with a speaker, I bought an Amazon Echo and loved it but found the sound 'wanting.' Bought an Echo Dot to pair with one of my other Bose speakers. Didn't like the fact that the speakers went into standby after 20 minutes - wanted to be able to talk to the Dot and have it answer any time. Tried a UE Boom 2 because supposedly it stays on all the time when plugged in, but it was really not the right solution for an indoor, quality sound application. So i just broke down and bought this Soundtouch 20. Ahhhh...finally...quality sound. NO, it's not audiophile quality, but the sound represents compromises that maximize the small form factor. And it will play my Dot....and yes, it shuts down after 20 minutes but at least there's a remote to turn it on...or the app on my iPhone...or the app on my computer. And the 6 presets are awesome for playing my Amazon music or iHeart Radio. It pairs nicely with the Dot. Alas, I ramble. If you are thinking about buying one, just do it.

This is my second speaker system from Bose and no complaints with the sound quality. I purchased Sound Touch Series II in Nov-15, but Apple Play / Wi-Fi functionality died immediately after Bose Warranty expired in Nov-16. Best Buy Geek Squad tried repairing it, but it didn't work. Finally Geek Squad agreed to exchange that, but since this model was no longer in stock, they refunded me the amount which is very less then the amount I paid. Best Buy told me that they refund amount based on the current market value of the product. (surprise to me, I'll never buy Geek Squad Plan again). I had to spend additional $250 to buy a new Series III speaker (because I like the sound quality of Bose). I am not happy with: 1. Quality of the speaker from a premium / expensive company like Bose. Speaker died in less than 13 months. Are they expecting us to buy speakers every year? 2. Best Buy Geek Squad Plan - It's just a waste of money because if the model is outdated, they will refund you very less money with which you can't even afford a low quality system available in market.

I bought New Bose Speaker for my wife's office since she wanted WiFi speaker. I bought her the Bose SoundTouch 10 since it was compact. I loved the sound from her speaker plus I also like I can do both Bluetooth and WiFi. I wanted a bigger speaker for our kitchen so I bought the Bose SoundTouch 20. I thought the Bose SoundTouch 10 sound was fantastic, but the Bose SoundTouch 20 is just a little bit better and wider.Good choice for bigger rooms. I did listen to Sono 1 and 3 then compared it to Bose SoundTouch 10 and 20. I picked the Bose SoundTouch 10 because to me it sounded a better especially in the vocals and background instruments. Both speakers, 10 and 20 sound better in our home and office than at the Best Buy show room. The sales clerk told me it would because of the high ceilings in the store. I did read reviews about the SoundTouch system before i did make the final decision. I found the iPhone app very easy to install and run. The preset are a nice touch, especially if you don't have your smartphone or tablet handy. I have no complaints. My wife loves her SoundTouch so much, she now wants one in our bedroom.

My wife loves the previous Bose Bluetooth speakers we have owned. Last one was the Soundlink Bluetooth III. She actually did not want to get this new one, but I talked her into it. We hooked it up and replaced the old Soundlink. Every bit as clear in the mids and highs, if not clearer. Main difference is the bass. We find the bass to be deep (not subwoofer deep but very present) and clean. The addition of the app on the phone and the computer to hook up via Wi-Fi and not just Bluetooth really widens the options for this device. We have it in the kitchen area and can choose from Amazon, iTunes and other music services with ease. Works fine with the Echo (was a little bit picky to set up). Overall, we really preferred this unit to the Soundtouch 30. Definitely good sound from that unit, but we found the bass a bit "too" much for our taste given the application (and our HT system has dual 800 watt subs). All in all, a very good performer for specific applications. Good build quality and lots of connectivity options. Very pleased.

I tried not to buy this! Started with an Amazon Echo (which we love), but while the Echo is amazing, the sound quality is just okay. Decided to move the Echo to another room and get an Echo Dot to pair to a speaker. Tried speakers I have around the house (2 Bose Soundlink), but it still wasn't exactly what I wanted. Tried a Beats speaker...nope. Finally broke down and bought this and have not regretted it. Awesome for streaming online stations - integrates well with the Dot when needed - easy connection to my iPhone via bluetooth when I want iPhone content. My wife and I are listening to music, iHeart radio or podcasts all the time. I liked it so much that I bought a Soundtouch 10 for another room and plan to get yet another for the 'other end' of the house. The "Play Everywhere" is so easy and intuitive and you get whole house sych'd play or the individual rooms can have their own content. Pricey? Yes. Sound quality awesome? Nah - it's good, but not awesome. Worth the price? Yes, I think so. It's so well made and so versatile that I consider it worth every penny.

So far, the best compact speaker I've bought. It's a bit pricy, but if you're as demanding with critical audio frequencies as I am, the item is priceless. I use it in the corner of my room as it is recommended by Bose. Its treble clarity and bass sorounds the entire room at every angle--enough to make you stand up and freestyle, hip hop, or chill out out with easy listening tracks. All in all, in my opinion, Bose has retained its name through years of research as opposed to similar competitors who blow up their prices and try to provide you with lower sound quality.

Overall, I really like this product. Disappointment... I was expecting it to have better sound than it does. I've always loved Bose products when I've listened to them on display. I finally had a reason to splurge on myself and bought this product for my bedroom and another for my living area. Sound just isn't quite up to par compared to what I've always heard from Bose before, not bad, just not amazing. The other disappointment... I bought this specifically to be able to sync with my other Bose SoundTouch system, and it does if listening to preset or Bluetooth but does NOT if playing CDs (which I still do a lot of). Thank goodness they were both on sale or may not ?? have been worth the cost.

This product has very good lows, mids and highs with a lot of detail in the music. Easily portable and the settings for the streaming services are easy to setup as are the connections to bluetooth devices. I have a new Netgear router that supports AC levels and multiple bands. I have had a problem with the wireless connection from the router to the SoundTouch 20 when streaming music. I use Apple Music and it works just fine with my MacBook Pro and a wireless connection to the router, but when connected to the Bose wirelessly it ocassionally drops the connection for 1-2 seconds. Checked the Bose forum and they suggested changing bands from 2.4 to the 5 megahertz band. That did improve the connection, but there are still some occasional drops in the connection. Nothing else on the band with the Bose, so not a problem of over saturation of the band. Same problem with my iPhone connection.

My wife wanted a music player for Christmas. She wanted something that she could stream music on without it being dependent on her phone or computer. This fit the bill perfectly. Although you can plug into it or use it as a Bluetooth device, you don't have to. You use the phone app to find what you want to stream, and then set preset stations much the same way you would do it on your car radio. Just find your source with the phone app, and then hold the preset button down on the player and it saves it . Then the presets can be recalled from the device without your phone being involved as it connects to your WiFi. It also sounds fantastic, which is usually par for the course with Bose products.

I was looking for a small speaker with bluetooth functionality that could fill a 16x22 space with high quality sound. After doing a lot of reading online and testing various speakers in stores with the same functionality and price range, I decided to purchase this speaker and it fulfilled all my needs. It is very easy to setup and, most importantly, creates amazing sound for its size. If you care about sound quality, if you like hearing all the nuances in a piece of music, if you like hearing all the lows and highs clearly, if listening to music is a whole experience in and of itself for you, and if you are looking for a compact solution, this speaker is for you.

We debated about getting this model Bose sound system or a larger one. For a medium sized, compact home without a lot of high ceilings this system does an excellent job of projecting clear sounding music even from a partial two-story room location to our main floor of our home. If we want the sound to feel more nearby, it is a compact, easy to move unit and we can easily carry it downstairs to enjoy throughout the main floor at a medium or lower volume setting. The sound is awesome, with great clarity. We mostly listen to Pandora on this Bose system and it is wonderful--no matter what type of music we are listening to! I love to listen to solo piano music--and it sounds like I have my own, personal pianist playing a grand piano to soothe me. Every listening is like having my own, personal "spa day"! Love this system, wish we'd made the purchase much sooner!!

I had done a lot of homework on the Soundtouch 20 & 30 online, the Bose factory store & Best Buy. (The 10 is pretty weak.) The Best Buy reviews made me gun shy. However, the main reason I never bought it is because it was wifi capable only & I like to play songs on my Ipod. When I went back to Best Buy the last time, they had the new Soundtouch 20 III & 30 III, which also has Bluetooth. I bought the 20. It's GREAT. The 30 truly has far BETTER sound, but it's very heavy (18 lbs). I wanted something that could easily be taken out on the deck, to the garage and on trips. The 20 has a convenient handle. I was afraid the sound would be lost outside on the deck, but it wasn't. I'm not sure why there's any negative reviews on this product? Every Bose product I have had has been terrific. I think it's a tremendous product and I would truly recommend it to anyone!

This is getting 4 stars instead of five because of one reason...the wifi connectivity is a giant pain in the butt and the app is mediocre at best. But let's be honest, you buy bose for the sound quality. Which this meets and exceeds every expectation in that department. The speaker would not connect to my 2.4ghz network, I read many a forums on how this is a very common issue. I was able to get it to connect to my 5ghz network on the first try. The problem being is the signal strength isn't as strong on the 5, and it isn't a device that warrants needing to be connected to that bandwidth. The app is mediocre, and only somewhat user friendly. All in all I would still recommend this device, because it meets and exceeds every sound quality expectation.

I initially went to Best Buy with the full intent of walking out with a Bose Sound Touch 10 speaker. All the reviews for the "10" seem to match what I was looking for. After explaining my needs to the sales associate, I was talked into purchasing the Sound Touch 20. Our family room measures approximately 10'x20', I wasn't looking for a speaker to blast out the neighborhood. As soon as I fired up the "20", much to my surprise the whole room filled with a very crisp, clear and solid sound. The bass quality is second to none. Now I know why Bose is a leader in speaker technology. I'm sure the "10" is a fine choice for a smaller room, but if you're looking to fill a large room with awesome sound, spend the extra $100.00. You won't regret it.

I bought 2 of these for my house and both of them have issues. The display on one of them stopped showing up for some reason, not a huge deal but disappointing. The other one has issues connecting to it all of the sudden. And when I can connect to it, I can no longer pair it with the other one in the house. Instead it will say that it's paired, but no sound will come out of one of the speakers. And on top of that, when listening to these speakers they randomly shut off for no reason at all, like a computer going to sleep mode. For the money that I spent, definitely expected better quality and for them to last a lot longer.

This is one of our best sounding speakers, and this isn't the type of experience you should expect. I would first recommend a power reset of both speakers.
