Yes these can be programmed in alexa or Google home or c by ge app to remain off until you schedule it to turn on or you slide the indicated light to on in the apps. I have mine scheduled to come on every Sunday at 9pm and it does so as long as you leave the light switch on the wall in the on position. You do need a c-reach smart bridge to connect light to app & phone. You can get a C-reach plug in that has the bridge integrated into it, it's easiest. Hope this helps you.
