Light constantly stops working
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5The lights are great and then all of a sudden they just stop working. I have 6 of them and they seem to take turns stop working. It’s extremely annoying because it appears to happen at night when we are watching tv. Then I have to do it manually and the next day they’re fine. Way too much hassle for a smart bulb. Spend your money elsewhere.

SMART Home Light from GE, easy setup with google
Posted .Pros mentioned:App, Google home, Set upSMART Home Light from GE, easy setup with google HOME app and google speakers. I was happy to try and even happier to see the GE C-LITE respond to my google mini and insignia google speaker. I set my bedroom reading lamp near my insignia speaker which is also my alarm clock. The other GE C-Lite is next to my google mini in my guest bedroom. Set up was easy thanks to the google HOME app. Each bulb was paired in succession with no unexpected troubles. The lamps dim as commanded, on/off too. If you set it low enough it mimics a night lite. And I didn't need a hub, just my google speakers. I know there are hubs available and a GE app, but I don't seem to need them; maybe later if I add more lights.

GE C Light Bulbs (Wifi)
|Posted .Pros mentioned:App, Google home, PriceThis product is worth the money! Making life convenient by asking Alexa or Google Hub (I have both) to turn the specific name you make for the lights, via the GE app, on or off. The app works great when you're on vacation, however, want to appear you're at home. Also if you want to come home to a lit house. I highly recommend purchasing this product, especially when you have the option to dim the lights to 1% for reading a good book, or watching a movie. The lights can also go up to a 100%, and everything in between. I can set these options through the app or by speaking once connected to Alexa or Google Home. Another great option is you have the capability of utilizing the Google Home app or Alexa app to control the same options that are presented in the GE app!

Great lights
|Posted .Pros mentioned:App, Google homeI love these bulbs. I have a Google mini that I use them with and they are super easy to set up and super easy to control. I can tell Google to dim them or brighten them from my phone or mini device or I can just go in on the Google home app and adjust them to how I want them manually. Great when my kids leave on a light and I'm too lazy to get up and cut it off or when we're returning home I can just tell Google to cut on the porch light or the living room light so that we dont have to walk into a dark house.

Excellent smart bulbs - requirements not explained
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI received a 2 pack of these bulbs and was immediately met with no instructions, and only seeing reference to Google and home mini on the box. No QR codes to link to software, nothing. As regular light bulbs, they are awesome, but I knew there had to be something more going on. So, I went to the Apple App Store and found a C by GE app that has the same icon as the box, so I downloaded it. Once it installed, I was able to find the two light bulbs without any issue. It blinks them so you know which is which. Then, I was able to use the automation features to turn them on/off, dim or brighten them, and schedule them when to come on/off. I'm not much of someone who likes automation of lights, only because there is some issue if someone tries to come downstairs at 3am to get medicine, a drink, watch TV, etc. and they don't have the APP or don't have their phone, that kind of thing. However, I put them into places where this would not be an issue - the living room desk, and the hallway by the steps. What I found myself doing was to program the hallway light to dim at night, get bright at morning, and the desk light to come on at dusk to 50% and turn off at bedtime. This is how our household works, so it was an easy thing to do. If I had the Google home mini maybe more is available as for features, but this is fine and works great using IOS and an Iphone. The light is very natural looking and not at all like an LED. The fact that these lights are pretty much able to be programmed how we live, and adjusted as needed, I'm good. Plus, if you plan to do more, you can turn them on and off at dusk and dawn that kind of thing. I even programmed a time between 12am and 5am, to have the light come on at a certain time and go off at a certain time, to appear to anyone scoping out the house, that someone is up and doing something, then I have it programmed to go off at a certain time thereafter. You can repeat days or times of days, I haven't figured out if there is a limit - but if there is one I haven't found it yet. Imagine GE quality, with this kind of built in WIFI bulb that does NOT need a HUB, what more could you want? It appears if you hook up to Google home mini or something you can do outside and voice control, but I was able to do outside control with simply the APP over cellular. I don't care about voice control, I only care out outside control and that works without anything but the app and cellular service. A great product for automating standard non-color switching lightbulbs. I'll be getting more of these and for the price point you cannot go wrong at all.
Q: QuestionMy question is can I use them as regular lights? I mean have them on in the app and turn them on and off with the regular switch? I don’t want to turn on them every time from the app or Alexa.
Asked by Alexander.
- A:Answer Yes, you can use them as regular lights and they will turn on and off with the regular switch.

Q: QuestionSo basically as long as I have a Google mini, I can just buy the bulbs, screw them in, and I'm done?
Asked by Chacha.
- A:Answer Yes, that is correct! Works great.

Q: QuestionAre these bulbs the same as the "C by GE Tunable White Smart Bulb?"
Asked by dbrum.
- A:Answer Hi there! They're not the same bulbs, the Tunable White was called the C-Sleep, and the C-Life is now the Soft White. So the Tunable White bulbs have three different gradients of white from Candlelight (a very orange color) to Daylight (a very bright blueish white). Q: QuestionDo these specif generation/model bulbs "require" a HUB?
Asked by SWAMCOP.
- A:Answer There is no Hub or bridge required. I set mine up using the C by GE App. However if you use the GE App you are limited to Bluetooth short range control. If you want to control these bulbs while away from home you will need a Amazon or Google device that can act as a hub.

Q: QuestionIs there a limit to how many bulbs or rooms the google home unit can control? Trying to understand the differences between bulbs that are WiFi or Bluetooth. Also can you control these bulbs remotely via smartphone while away from the house?
Asked by Jfest.
- A:Answer I have 5 bulbs on one home device and one bulb on another device. With the google home app you can control the lights that are connected to the hubs either home or away
Answered by Jake
Q: QuestionIf I don’t have the bridge or any Google assistant device, can I just use this bulb with the smartphone app?
Asked by Tais.
- A:Answer Download the Google Home app and you’re all set. I read that the GE app is buggy. You can also get the Google assistant app on any phone and it works just like a Google Home device. Then you can open your Assistant and speak to it like you would a home device to control these bulbs.
