Download the Google Home app and you’re all set. I read that the GE app is buggy. You can also get the Google assistant app on any phone and it works just like a Google Home device. Then you can open your Assistant and speak to it like you would a home device to control these bulbs.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you download the Google Home app and add the light bulbs there I bet you can use the Google Assistant on your phone to control them. I am only guessing but it does make sense that you would be able to do it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can use the bulbs without having a Google speaker, but you will need the Google Home app. From the app it will show you your bulb or bulbs depending on how many you have and you can assign them to a room so it would be under that room. You just click below the bulb to turn on and off. You can also adjust the rightness by clicking on the bulb.
