I love these bulbs. I have a Google mini that I use them with and they are super easy to set up and super easy to control. I can tell Google to dim them or brighten them from my phone or mini device or I can just go in on the Google home app and adjust them to how I want them manually. Great when my kids leave on a light and I'm too lazy to get up and cut it off or when we're returning home I can just tell Google to cut on the porch light or the living room light so that we dont have to walk into a dark house.

This product is worth the money! Making life convenient by asking Alexa or Google Hub (I have both) to turn the specific name you make for the lights, via the GE app, on or off. The app works great when you're on vacation, however, want to appear you're at home. Also if you want to come home to a lit house. I highly recommend purchasing this product, especially when you have the option to dim the lights to 1% for reading a good book, or watching a movie. The lights can also go up to a 100%, and everything in between. I can set these options through the app or by speaking once connected to Alexa or Google Home. Another great option is you have the capability of utilizing the Google Home app or Alexa app to control the same options that are presented in the GE app!

The lights are great and then all of a sudden they just stop working. I have 6 of them and they seem to take turns stop working. It’s extremely annoying because it appears to happen at night when we are watching tv. Then I have to do it manually and the next day they’re fine. Way too much hassle for a smart bulb. Spend your money elsewhere.

SMART Home Light from GE, easy setup with google HOME app and google speakers.
I was happy to try and even happier to see the GE C-LITE respond to my google mini and insignia google speaker.
I set my bedroom reading lamp near my insignia speaker which is also my alarm clock. The other GE C-Lite is next to my google mini in my guest bedroom.
Set up was easy thanks to the google HOME app. Each bulb was paired in succession with no unexpected troubles. The lamps dim as commanded, on/off too. If you set it low enough it mimics a night lite.
And I didn't need a hub, just my google speakers. I know there are hubs available and a GE app, but I don't seem to need them; maybe later if I add more lights.

Simple, easy smart lighting option

If you're looking for a simple, easy way to get smart lighting in your home, this is it. The bulbs are standard size, A19 bulbs and should fit almost anywhere that a regular bulb will fit. This is a great way to achieve simple smart lighting functionality without the hassle of installing new switches, especially if you have an older home and may not have neutral wires available in your switch boxes. It's as close to plug and play as you can get (assuming you already have a google home device setup and running). I literally had these out of the box and running within two minutes, including the time it took to screw the bulb in.
My only negatives are that they are only 60W equivalent and are probably not suitable for outdoor bulb replacement.

I was looking for a cheaper no frills bulb that works with Google assistant and these were the answer. They do not require a hub (just a Google Assistant or Alexa).
They're brighter than the standard LED bulbs I had so that was a plus. It doesn't come with much instruction so I had to learn on the fly. It's pretty easy however I recommend setting up one bulb at a time. I plugged in and turned on EVERY bulb I purchased (10 in total) and they seemed to get confused with each other. After several minutes of having issues I set them up 1 by 1 and had no issues.
The only other problem I had was that it seemed like 2 of the bulbs had the same ID or something because when I tried to set it up it kept trying to pair 2 at the same time. I took it back and they swapped it out for me and that seemed to do the trick.

I purchased these bulbs and tried them. They work well and are reasonably priced for someone starting out with smart lighting. They work off Bluetooth so no bridge necessary and as easy as screwing the bulb in. However, after trying the Hue lighting, I found The Hue kit to be better. It is pricier than the GE bulbs but you can do much more with them. The GE bulbs are great for someone who wants simple smart lighting but not really good for a whole home solution. With that said, I recommend trying them both and make your own decision on what you really want to accomplish with home lighting.

These bulbs were easy to set up, I thought, anyway. They worked great for a while, but then would work occasionally. I ended up having to reset them, using this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BB6wj6RyKo&feature=share
Once I reset them, I have had no further issues with them. I recently had knee surgery and having the bulbs has made it so much easier moving from one room to another without having to physically turn light switches on and off.
They are a little pricey, but the price is well worth the convenience.

Ive had these lights for about 2 months now and i really like the light output, i like the dimming thru the google home app or the google home. The only thing that keeps me from rating these a 5 star is that sometimes my commands don’t work, google home will say something like “I’m sorry i cant connect to your light right now. So instead i started going to the google home app and shutting the lights off from there but i have noticed that sometimes they don’t want to turn back on in the morning. I’ve learned that if you just go and shut the switch off manually a couple times the google home and google home app will sync with the bulbs again but i usually have to do this daily. It’s a little annoying because sometimes when you’re already in bed or wake up in the middle of the night they don’t wanna turn on or vice versa. This is my 1st experience with smart bulbs and GE is quite economical compared to others like Phillips HUE, so maybe in the future i will give the next GE bulbs another shot and hopefully they improve these issues but if not then i will likely not buy this brand again.

I’m using these on two lights that are across the room, lights are very easy to setup and are great. They are dimable and you have the ability to move them across the room. The only issue I had, was I had to reboot my home mini and these light stopped checking in. I ended up having to hard reset the lights and connect them again. Hasn’t been an issue since, but I haven’t had to reboot my mini since

Bought two of these for the bedroom, where I have a Google Home Hub. Screwed them in and followed the simple setup in the Google Home App and they work great! All you have to do is say "Hey Google Turn the lights on" You can even name these for you and your spouse/mate, dim these with your voice commands, "Hey Google Dim my light 50%" Very Happy with these!

A Good Alternative Over Smart Plugs

This is an excellent product and an alternative to using smart plugs for lamps. I have, over a period of time, installed twelve (12) C by GE-Lite Smart LED Bulbs to date. Previously. I used smart plug outlets to operate lamps which used a wifi connection. Smart plug outlets work well, but a drop in the wifi connection would cause the smart plug outlet to malfunction causing the lamp light bulb to blink periodically. The only resolution to the problem is to reboot the modem/ router. The C by GE bulbs, on the other hand, uses a Bluetooth connection. I use the Google Home app and Google Assistant to control the GE Smart bulbs. There is a GE app, however, you cannot use both the GE app and the Google Home app. It has to be one or the other. Setup is fairly easy. If a problem occurs during setup or you just need to reset the GE bulb, the reset is can be a challenging process due to the sequence of steps involved in the reset. The reset becomes easy once you gain and maintain the rhythm in the reset process. All and all, I am very pleased with this product.

Flawless with Google Assistant - Pain to Reset

Works exceptionally well if set up with Google Home for Google Assistant voice commands. Setting up with GE app is infuriating. And resetting the bulb to switch setup app is time-consuming and easily foiled. The help offered is a video which does not move in time to the sequence you have to follow to reset the bulb. So, you're constantly pausing and restarting the video, and unlocking your screen when you pause too long. The steps to reset are too numerous and repetitive...so you forget where you are if you're doing it from memory. The product itself is respectable - not the quality of Philips Hue bulbs, my only other smartbulb comparison. For the price, especially when on sale, you can't go wrong with these.

(Note that I only got these because they were part of a deal Best Buy had going with the Google Home Mini Smart Light Kit. I've scored the bulbs as if I paid the full retail value for them, however.)
C by GE is a Bluetooth-connected smart light system. Because of this, it has limits you wouldn't experience with Wifi-connected or hub-connected smart light systems that compete with the C bulbs.
First, the good - these bulbs have three options for connectivity in your home:
If you don't have a Google Home device, you can download the C by GE app and configure them to work that way. This allows you to set timers for the bulbs to come on and turn off, as well as manually control the bulbs when they're in your phone's Bluetooth range. Of course, setting them up to operate this way prevents you from using more than one device to control them and you won't be able to control them while you're away from home (or possibly across the house).
If you do have a Google Home device, you can pair the bulbs by using the Google Home app on your iPhone or Android device. Once set up, the bulb establishes a Bluetooth connection with your Google Home device and you can manually control the bulbs with either your voice or the Google Home app. Unfortunately, this doesn't allow you to set a timer to control when the bulbs automatically come on or power down, but since you can control them from anywhere when set up this way, you'll be able to manually turn on the lights on your way home at night with either the Google Home app or Google Assistant and your voice. Note that you won't be able to pair these bulbs with Alexa using this method.
GE also sells what's called the C-Reach hub, which will put these bulbs at a price point that can be compared to premium smart light systems (both hub and wifi-connected). Unless you have both Google Home and Alexa devices, this isn't worth the cost and I can't recommend buying it for the C system.
These bulbs also form a Bluetooth mesh network, so if you have multiple C-life bulbs in your home, you won't necessarily be out of range because of their connection-hopping ability.
Now for the bad:
Bluetooth connectivity is the limiting factor with these light bulbs. WiFi options aren't much more expensive and are far more flexible. Even some hub-connected systems aren't much more expensive overall, and their central hub connects to WiFi so you can control them anywhere without a Google Home Mini or an optional - and expensive - hub.
If you have a large home, you may not be able to connect and control your bulbs from across the house if they're Bluetooth connected.
Resetting the lightbulb back to factory is a chore. It's not something that can be done either in the Google Home app or the C by GE, and compared to other smart lights, it's more difficult than it should be. (This deducted a star by itself.)
Being that these are Bluetooth bulbs, they're overpriced.
All in all, I can recommend these for apartment dwellers who aren't concerned with always-connected lightbulbs and want something with a well-known name brand, or for people who have a Google Home device and can get these bulbs on sale. As part o a Google Home Mini Smart Light Kit, this is also not a bad deal as you're getting a bulb for less than half it's retail price that way and you'll be able to internet connect it. For everyone else, however, look elsewhere. You can find better, more functional bulbs for around the same price.

I think these light bulbs are actually super convenient. I like them a lot. The fact that you can also dim and brighten them is such a nice touch. Sometimes there is a slight delay between them and my google home mini, but not much. And the set up was very easy. I took off one star simply because I wish there were different sizes. I purchased more of these to use for my kitchen light in the dining room for when I have my hands full of dirty dishes or food and can't hit the light switch on my way in or out, but the bulbs were too big. And this is the only size offered. But otherwise, i am pretty happy with my purchase!

Another sale that caught my attention. Not all smart bulbs are equal. What I mean by that is the ability to pair this with Philips or Alexa. I use mostly Philips Hue and unfortunately, these do not pick up on the bridge. Also, you have to purchase a GE bridge to allow it to talk to Alexa. Now if you use Google Home Assistant vs Alexa you are good to go, no bridge necessary. I have both Smart Devices in my home (techy nerd) so I accept it for what it is. I just batch the bulbs to select areas (such as downstairs Google, upstairs Alexa).
