I have this set up with my Google Home. Although it is rated for indoor use, I've installed it for my porch light which is protected from the elements by 2 measures. Set up is so simple with the Google Home. You install the light, open up the Home app, Add devices. The app finds the lights and you're on your way to customizing it with commands, schedules, etc using "Routines". You are able to dim these bulbs through the app. DON'T use with a dimmer switch! No temperature color shifts. No multi-color function either. The 800 lumens is comparable to other 800lu bulbs I'm using. I will update this once they go bad. Absolutely the best deal in the market! I searched through Home Depot, Lowes, and Amazon for alternatives and this was the best for my need.

    Good entry into "smart" lighting

These are pretty basic smart bulbs that actually use bluetooth instead of wifi to connect to your smart home. Works right out of the box with the google assistant, you will need to buy the c-reach bridge to connect with a amazon echo device. These only have one color setting, but they are able to be dimmed as well. The only other feature these bulbs have is the fact you can set up a schedule in the app. For the price its hard to beat if you are looking for really basic "smart" functions and dont want to spend $20+ per light bulb.

These were very easy to set up with our Google Home devices, and they haven't had any issues staying connected. These lightbulbs connect with bluetooth, which allows them to work without a hub and without adding to the load on our WiFi router. They've so far avoided having to be reconfigured after the power cycles, which is a problem I've had with my WiFi bulb. The color on these is quite warm (on the yellow side of white) and not adjustable, but is good for our needs. The bulbs are dimmable and have a good brightness range. See related C-Life products if you need to adjust the color warmth.

Got these as lights for my ceiling fans (2 per fan, 2 bedrooms). Each room has a Google Home in them. Syncing them to each Google home was simple. It connects to them via Bluetooth. After that, using the Google home app or voice commands to use the lights is easy. The lights are also pretty bright, so no complaints there. Only 2 problems I have with them though. 1) If there is a power outage/lights are turned off at the switch, it takes them a bit to reconnect with the Google home. The issue isn't really that they take awhile to reconnect, as that's just how Bluetooth works. The issue is that there is no indication when it's finally reconnected. It would be nice if the lights flashed or something to let you know they're reconnected. 2) resetting the lights to get them synced to another Google home (or to use he's own app to control the lights which make them usable via Bluetooth only when within range) is a pain. It's basically you turning the light on and off over and over again until they start flashing, which tells you they've reset. Honestly this could have been a bit more intuitive, but hey it's how they handle it. 3) the dimming feature works in steps, not as a consistent smooth transition. It's not really an issue, but would have been nice to have them smoothly transition from 100% to 50% or whatever. 4) the dimming is kinda weird. There's a very slight difference between 1% and 5%. 5% to 10% is also pretty slight. After that it's easier to notice a difference between % dimming, but 10% and lower is pretty difficult to see a difference. If you only plan on controlling these lights via your phone, spend alittle extra for a light with a hub. These connect via Bluetooth, so you'd only be able to control them if within Bluetooth range. If you have a Google home for these to be synced to, the Google home basically acts as a hub for them. You can also purchase the ge Hub for them called c-reach, but I don't have that so I have no experience with it.

Hi there! Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that your lights are failing to dim properly. If your light is dimming in steps, and if you are not seeing a difference between 1% and 10% this indicates an issue with your bulb, the Google Home app, or possible your Google Home device itself. We would recommend connecting your bulb to the C by GE app and test them out. If the issue persists, the issue is likely the bulb itself. If not, the issue is most likely the Google Home app or your Google Home device. If that is the case, you can contact Google Home Support at 844-701-7229. If you have any questions or need further assistance, you can contact our Support at 1-844-302-2943 or [email protected] - C by GE Customer Support

App finally works with Google. Initially these worked great- no hub needed, simple setup, reliable. Then they got flaky, eventually becoming unusable. Early 2021 they released a new app called Cync and so far it appears to be working great. If you have another GE device that includes a hub (smart plug, switch, etc) they seem to work best.

I’ve only had them for a week or so, not long enough for a full assessment which is why I gave it 3 stars. The set up is easy, but in the first few days I had some trouble where one or two bulbs were not responding. And unfortunately you can delete or remove one bulb for google home. In order to reset that one bulb, you have to unlink all bulbs, and re-link them all over again. Now that’s quick and easy, but when you have to do it more than two times, or maybe even three or four times. It becomes very annoying, especially when you have multiple bulbs in multiple rooms. Overall, once you get it all set up and all bulbs are behaving the way they should, it seems to work pretty good. So far I have no regrets, and still learning how to use them with my google home setup. By the way I didn’t need to download the C by GE app. Everything is done through the google home app, and we need to be able to remove devices like bulbs with out having to setup the entire system every time.

Hi Fanatic! Thank you for taking the time to review our products. We are sorry to hear that you have been expereincing issues with your smart lights. You are correct. It is not possible to delete just one bulb in the Google Home app. You have to unlink C by GE which unlinks all of the bulbs. Unfortunately, since you areconnecting your bulbs to your Google Home device directly, you are limited to whatever functions that the Google Home app has to offer. If you have any one of our "Smart Bridge" devices (Smart Switch, Smart Plug, Sol, or C-Reach), you can add the bulbs to the C by GE app instead and then link your C by GE account in the Google Home app. The C by GE app will not only allow you to delete individual devices. but it will also allow you to connect more smart lights than your Google Home device. Feel free to call us at 1-844-302-2943, email us at [email protected] or live chat with us on cbyge.com if you have any questions. - C by GE Customer Support

I had just connected a google home mini in my home and found out it can turn on/off certain devices including these lightbulbs. Was pleasantly surprised how easy they were to setup and get going. Love walking into my place with someone new and saying, “hey google, turn on the lights.” They’re also dimmable by any percentage 1-100. Brightness is perfect for my place as it’s not too big and not a white that keeps me up, but a mellow natural light yellow. As for price, they’re definitely more expensive than your normal light bulbs, but you’re paying for the luxury of dimmable smart bulbs.

We bought a Google Home Hub and some minis to add to our rooms at Christmas time. We added some wifi plugs which are great. But, we decided to try some smart bulbs too. These are amazing! They were easy to set up and you can adjust the brightness just by telling our google hub to set it at a certain percent. Also turning them off and on are great. We have a hallway light that only has a switch at one end of the hall. Now I can walk down the hall and tell it to turn off at the other end. I wasn't sure how my husband was going to like all of this smart stuff but he truly loves it as much as I do.

The simplest way to setup smart lights with no hub

These lights are great, and definitely the simplest way to setup smart home lighting with your Google Home without any additional hubs. However these do lack the ability to connect with Smart Things, or any other Hub. Meaning stuff like motion sensor control, is out the window. However if you just want to voice control your lights, or run them via routines from Google Assistant - these are perfect for it.

Purchase C by GE - A19 Bluetooth light after researching and finding this product highly recommended. It was surprisingly easy to setup than a prior brand I had purchased. Originally bought them for my wife's lamp and she enjoys the simplicity of use. Especially the ability to dim the light and power on/off using Google Home. Based on my experience I have decided to purchase more C by GE - A19 Bluetooth lights for other areas of the house.

I am disabled...getting around is not always the easiest thing for me. I am in a lot of pain due to severe stage 4 Osteoarthritis in my hip. With the convenience of turning these off and on through the phone application makes it easier for me if I forget to turn one off after leaving a room or I can turn one on before entering or if I hear a strange noise. It does take a few moments for the bulbs to respond once the app is activated in the phone. I have placed the bulbs in strategic rooms or places in each room. The one placed in my kitchen is in the down spot over the kitchen sink which is very helpful. The only one issue is sometimes the app is a bit buggy and sometimes takes a couple of times to reactivating the app to get them to connect.

An easy set-up with Google Home. Not so with the C by GE app, where I couldn't make the connection after a couple of tries. Not a big issue however since all of my smart home devices can be found with the Google Home app. One other minor issue is that the C by GE bulb doesn't work with Alexa.

These GE light bulbs are very inexpensive and I used these in my children rooms. My children only have to say the name of the bulb to turn it on and off by themselves with their voice (using Google device). The set up is less then a minute. Don't forget you can set the light brightness from 1% all the way to to 100%. Example if you set the light brightness to 25% then turn it off and when you turn it back on it is still at 25%.

These bulbs were easy to set up and configure. They produce a warm slightly yellow light, as opposed to most LED bulbs that create straight white light. Only issue is they occasionally lose connection to our Google home mini, which requires turning then off & back on at the switch.

Smart lights are so convenient. No need to get up to flip light switches once you're in bed. Just connect it to your Google home or whatever and turn them off with your voice. You can also dim them which is useful. My only problem with these is that they disconnect every so often. I don't know if it's my google home, my internet or the light but it happens enough that I end up resetting the light and reconnecting it to the Google home again and it works. It's a little frustrating when it disconnects but it's well worth the convenience when it works which is most of the time.
