The camera we have does require 110 volt power to operate. There are similar cameras that operate on batteries. If you still want this camera, you can use an "UPS" unit for back up

If you're concerned about that, I would give it it's own so if there is an extended outage maybe it will stay on longer it it's the only thing using it. I think it's only 20-30 watts per hour which isn't much so...
