The backup camera is just a camera for the car to let you see when your in reverse. The back camera will be installed from inside the the car on the top back of the back window. Hope this answer helps, good luck.

I would have it installed if you got it. It’s separate from your car’s back up camera and won’t interfere. It will record activity behind you unlike your cars back up camera. It will be installed on your back window. Not obtrusive at all.
