A:AnswerI don't work for Best Buy, but I suggest that you purchase a wiring harness for the dash cam that terminates with the right fittings for the dash cam. Have BB install that. Then purchase the required adapters that will power the radar detector from that feed at the windshield. This way you will not have any cigarette lighter power required. Power requirements are likely the same for both of these units.
A:AnswerCall the store and ask them. It highly depends on what dash cam it is, how it was installed.
As far as the drain part, you should go with a dash cam that has a battery voltage protection device built into the hardwire kit or built into the dashcam software. This will prevent a drain below ~11.4v.
A:AnswerI would think you could get it checked out a Best Buy. That said, based upon what you've provided, it appears to me to be a power problem. I suggest you check the fuse for the cigarette port.
A:AnswerHi Ken. Thank you for taking time to reaching out about this. Generally, we mount a rear dash camera in the same spot on most vehicles. But in a case like this, it can vary. We'd recommend connecting with your local Best Buy's Autotech team. We'll be able to let you know how the install will work. A:AnswerI scheduled my two vehicles to have cameras installed. They hard wired both vehicles. The cost was the same as quoted. If you don’t have hardware they can provide same at a cost. They did an excellent job on both vehicles
