I haven’t thought about using a pen on the system. I found this Though the newest 2017 model 13 and 15" Inspirons will take active pens, the 17" is a touch screen only - you can use a generic capacitive stylus (see example below) -- but not an active pen that works with pressure-sensitive digitizers -- which the 17" model does not have.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a fine laptop, but Dell does not manufacture an active pen that is compatible. I bought one that had been promoted on their website when looking at configuration options for the machine, only to find that in reality it was not compatible at all! After going a few rounds with their customer service and technical support groups, they eventually connected me with an advanced level rep who admitted there is no active pen that works with this 2-in-1 device. Seems a bit ironic, doesn't it? Otherwise, a really top notch business machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I highly recommend checking with the manufacturer about whether a specific model number supports active pens or not, as it seems to vary widely between very similar Inspiron laptop models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also have had the go around with dell and best buy, sold me on the machine with a pen that would work to find out months later nothing will work. very frustrating to have dell higher level not know. in fact if the stick on the device does not say active stylus it wont work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is shame that stylus does not work, Bought this laptop for same reason and now I have to return it because stylus does not work.
