• Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. You absolutely can turn off your machine's brush bar, while vacuuming bare floors. To do so, power on and recline your vacuum. You can then press the brush bar power button, which is located right next to the power button of the vacuum. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
