A:AnswerI HATE our Dyson and its vacuum hose, it is the most difficult thing I've ever tried to use. We've had this vacuum for three years now, so I'm irritated that their "help" person says it should stretch over time. It doesn't. And the vacuum won't stay standing vertical either, it keeps unclicking and falling over, meaning I have to constantly stand it up again. If I had known three years ago that this vacuum would cause me so many headaches I NEVER would have purchased it, and I will never touch another Dyson product because of it. What stupid engineering! If and when you can get the hose to stretch out even a little bit, then it kinks over where you hold it with your hand. All the suction is then gone and your wand is useless. I just finished using it this morning to vacuum the tile floors of my bathrooms and I had to stop because I'm so frustrated with it. What a joke!
A:AnswerHello Lori, this is Kelly with Dyson.
The gray button on your Dyson Ball Animal, located next to the power button, will disable your machine's brush bar. When your machine is powered on and reclined, the brush bar will automatically be on. If you are vacuuming a more delicate carpet or bare floor surface, you can turn that off to vacuum with just suction power.
Best wishes,
Kelly

A:AnswerHi there! Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Ball Animal. The Animal version and Multi-Floor version are the same. However, the Animal comes with more tool attachments one of which is great for pet hair.

A:AnswerHi there, its Tameka with Dyson. I am very sorry to hear that your Dyson has an odor. Along, with washing the filters, we recommend cleaning the cyclone with a can of compressed air and checking the unit for an obstruction. The pre filter is inside the cyclone. The post filter is also the HEPA filter and is located in the ball near the motor of the unit. Both filters are washable and can be reused for the life of the machine. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please feel free to email us directly at [email protected]. We are happy to help!
Best wishes,
Tameka

A:AnswerHi Barb. It's Vince with Dyson. We normally recommend using a can of compressed air in tandem with your brush accessory to keep the part you described clear of any dust build up. We will be happy to provide additional maintenance tips via email at [email protected].

A:AnswerHello Tatalee, this is Kelly with Dyson. The diameter of the hose on the Ball Animal is approximately 1.5". We would recommend a tool such as the flexi-crevice tool for vacuuming out a dryer vent.
Best wishes,
Kelly

A:AnswerThat button turns off the rotation system in case you wanna use just the suction power on certain surfaces. However the default mode of the vacuum is with rotation turned on. If you disconnect and connect again it should ideally work. If it still doesn’t work contact dyson support. Thanks
A:AnswerHi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal does not operate via a belt. Rather the brush bar is powered by a motor. Therefore, it is only a matter of removing the brush bar occasionally to clear it of any debris.

A:AnswerHello Mimi, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've run into some issues while vacuuming your low pile carpeting with your Ball Animal. The cleaner head is self adjusting, so it will automatically raise and lower to seal in suction across all floors. Sometimes issues can arise, where the brush bar will stop spinning, if the brush bar senses your carpeting fibers as an obstruction. This shuts off the brush bar motor, to prevent the motor from overheating. Another issue that can arise, is that the machine will feel hard to push. Thus is due to the machine's suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. It's usually more common on thicker, more plush carpeting, carpets with thicker padding underneath or even area rugs.
We are always happy to help troubleshoot any issues that you might be having. Please feel free to get in touch with us directly at [email protected] so we can assist you.
Best wishes,
Kelly

A:AnswerI think it is also for 5 years but on mine I did Purchase the warranty from Best Buy I like this one better because the Dyson warranty only covers certain or main parts of the vacuum. And Best Buy covers accidents and everything else.
A:AnswerHello Mart, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal as with all of our other upright and canister vacuums does have a brush bar that spins. However, you can shut the brush bar off on this model, to vacuum with just suction on your wool rugs and hard floors.

A:AnswerIt’s better than most vacuums out there. I added some pictures so hopefully that helps, but it gets really close. I still use the smaller hose with different nozzle to really get to the edge but the vacuum does a good job. And FYI we own three (yes, three) Dyson vacuums. We have this one, the cordless V7 animal and an older Dyson. This vacuum is amazing and does a very good job. I just vacuumed my house maybe three days ago and we do have three kids but you can see how much stuff it vacuumed up in just the few days since the last time I cleaned. It’s worth every penny.
A:AnswerHi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Ball Animal is a full size upright, which will be larger in size, weigh a bit more, and also have more suction power than the Slim Animal. The Slim models will be a bit more compact; great for smaller homes or apartments.
