- Answer Hello Lenie, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal upright does feature a spinning brush bar, which will help capture both pet and human hair. QuestionCan this be used on a high pile rug? I have an area rug in my bedroom which can only be vacuumed by one of my two current, dying vacuums. The other vacuum gets stuck on it because the pile is too thick for its carpet setting.

- Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal has an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head. Dyson cleaner heads have been designed to maintain optimal contact with flooring to help ensure the best performance across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, while we don't expect problems to occur and experiences can vary from home to home, some high pile carpets may fill in the cleaner head resulting in an airtight seal. QuestionHow do you adjust the handle height on the Dyson Ball Animal for tall people? This vacuum's height is too short.

QuestionWhat is the difference between the animal upright and the cinetic animal upright ?

- Answer Hi. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson upright vacuums. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal has no filters to maintain and uses our latest cyclone technology while the Dyson Ball has 2 filters that need to be continuously maintained once every 3 months. The Cinetic series has 180 air watts of suction while the Dyson Ball has 270. With the new cyclone technology on the Cinetic and no filter to maintain, it doesn't require the stronger suction. QuestionI have this vacuum. Just got it. It will NOT vacuum my bedroom carpet. It is very high and thick. What do I do? My son in law tried to use it in there, he had to use both arms and struggle to push/pull. (he is 6'2' and 200#) Very upsetting. HELP!

QuestionDoes the vacuum have a heat sensor? After vacuuming for a while, it shut down, would not turn back on. I left it plugged in and in like 10 minutes it started up all by it self? Crazy

- Answer Yes it indeed does. I would suggest making sure the filters are clean, and depending how high your carpet piling is, taking short breaks. The sensor is a thermal overload switch. It is outstanding Dyson cares for it's consumers and equipment.

QuestionDoes this vacuum blow pet hair around hardwood floor like my Shark, or does it actually suck it up? Do you have to turn the beater bar off in order to actually suck up pet hair off hardwood floor?

- Answer This vacuum far surpasses any Shark brand vacuum. It will suck up the hair. It may blow a little around as the exhaust and HEPA filter is built into the ball. You can also use the brushroll on hard floors as long as you make sure there is nothing stuck in it that would scratch your floor. The Shark mine as well be a kids toy compared to this beast!

- Answer Linda, We love our dyson. I own several Dyson products. This particular one comes with a dog brush, which works great. One of my dogs does not like loud noises; the notice does not bother her, and it does a good job brushing her. Remember you can not go wrong with a Dyson!

- Answer Hello Mimi, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've run into some issues while vacuuming your low pile carpeting with your Ball Animal. The cleaner head is self adjusting, so it will automatically raise and lower to seal in suction across all floors. Sometimes issues can arise, where the brush bar will stop spinning, if the brush bar senses your carpeting fibers as an obstruction. This shuts off the brush bar motor, to prevent the motor from overheating. Another issue that can arise, is that the machine will feel hard to push. Thus is due to the machine's suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. It's usually more common on thicker, more plush carpeting, carpets with thicker padding underneath or even area rugs. We are always happy to help troubleshoot any issues that you might be having.
