“Can this be used on a high pile rug? I have an area rug in my bedroom which can only be vacuumed by one of my two current, dying vacuums. The other vacuum gets stuck on it because the pile is too thick for its carpet setting.”

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal has an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head. Dyson cleaner heads have been designed to maintain optimal contact with flooring to help ensure the best performance across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, while we don't expect problems to occur and experiences can vary from home to home, some high pile carpets may fill in the cleaner head resulting in an airtight seal. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same experience. The suction is so tight on my fluffy area rug that it makes it hard to roll the vacuum back and forth. But it's not a big deal. I just drag it from top to bottom, then I lift it back to the top and drag it again. It sucks so much dirt. It's amazing.
