This vacuum far surpasses any Shark brand vacuum. It will suck up the hair. It may blow a little around as the exhaust and HEPA filter is built into the ball. You can also use the brushroll on hard floors as long as you make sure there is nothing stuck in it that would scratch your floor. The Shark mine as well be a kids toy compared to this beast!
