“Why is my vacuum hose pulling in the opposite direction when I try to use the hose...suction is not good at all coming from the hose part...not only will it not allow hose to stretch but it is not picking up dirt. Help!”

That happens to me when something is stuck in the hose. Clear it and it should be fine.
