Hello Kathy, This is Dan with Dyson. You are right to note that the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball offers less suction power than our Dyson Ball models. They are powered by 180 airwatts and 270 airwatts respectively. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball has the benefit of Cinetic technology which doesn't require any filter cleaning. In contrast, the Dyson Ball has two filters that should be washed with cold water and air dried at least once every 3 months to ensure maximum suction power. Best wishes, Dan
