Yes; you must engage or hold the trigger while vacuuming. But it seems natural in hand, light, and easy to maneuver with one hand and one motion. Does not seem to be an issue.

Yes, you need to hold the button. But we have not found this to be a problem. This way it's not constantly running and using up the battery.

Yes. But I don’t find it to be a pain. It feels natural to hold hold the handle where the button is.

Yes you do have to hold trigger. Been using Dyson’s V8 and now V10 and I guess I have gotten used to that fact. You don’t really notice and it’s nice to cut it off at anytime to save battery.
