QuestionDo I need to use a docking station? I live in an apartment and can't drill holes in the wall to mount it. Can it just be plugged into an outlet to be charged?

QuestionDyson V10 Soft roller cleaner head? is this the only difference from the absolute and the animal? if so what does it do that that the animal can not

- Answer I asked this same question when I was browsing the models. It's meant for hard surfaces such as tile or wood. To me, it wasn't worth the extra 100 dollars to go from the Animal to Absolute for just that roller when we've done without soft rollers on hard surfaces for all time before now. The rest of the accessories and parts are the same.

QuestionDoes this work well on tile and hardwood floor to suck up dirt?

- Answer This vacuum works really well for me on my hardwood and linoleum floors even at the low setting. It will usually suck up everything from leaves and grass to food particles and kitty litter. I don't have tile floors but I imagine that it will work great! You may just need to use the medium setting to be able to get the dirt out of the grout lines. (And the battery still lasts a good amount of time on the medium setting...I would say a good 30 - 40 minutes). Hope this helps!

- Answer The soft roller is meant for hard surfaces such as tile or wood. From the reviews I've read online, they do get dirty and kind of nasty in a fairly quick order. I personally don't believe it's worth the extra 100 dollars to go from the Animal to the Absolute just for that one roller.

QuestionDoes the Animal model without the soft roller scratch hardwood floors? Is it necessary to purchase the Absolute in order to guarantee that the hardwood floors will not be scratched by the nylon bristles of the regular head?

- Answer Yes; you must engage or hold the trigger while vacuuming. But it seems natural in hand, light, and easy to maneuver with one hand and one motion. Does not seem to be an issue.

- Answer Yes, this thing gets it all out of the carpet. Just make sure to get the animal and not the regular cyclone. Animal has the new improved carpet attachment. I’m still amazed how good this thing cleans. I use medium setting it it picks up everything. There also is thebhigh setting for extremely dirty areas.

- Answer Yeah I keep mine in the laundry room close to the kitchen and I use it every day, little spills, big spills, huge mess’s it’s great. Not for wet mess, not for liquid spills

- Answer I have linoleum and some hardwood. It works great. You have to set the suction adjustment to medium. If you set it to maximum it’s so powerful it will get stuck. You will fall in love with this vacuum. It’s great for everything. Don’t delay, buy it now ! It’s just time dealing with inferior products if you wait.

- Answer I have only owned my machine a short while, but as a retired mechanical engineer, appreciate the design and quality of the construction. I see no reason to not expect the filter to last several years, assuming of course, that reasonable care and regular maintenance is consistently adhered to.

The Dyson V10 Animal has a torque drive cleaner head which includes a suction control lever in the cleaner head. - Answer Hello Nicholas, this is Kelly with Dyson. A few of our machines use dual voltage transformers making them compatible across a range of voltages. - Answer Don’t recharge the battery right after use. Don’t over-drain your lithium battery. Just don’t charge any lithium batteries when they are hot or even warm to touch. Google lithium battery care. My other dyson lasted for 4 years already without the battery going out on me. Instead the trigger button worn out me first...

- Answer You have to wait until it gets charged again. Dyson claiming 60 minutes runtime, but that is not true. it doesn't run more than 40/45 minutes.

QuestionMy Dyson V10 is routinely sucking things up past the fill line, even when it’s pretty empty. I get the feeling that dust, etc. shouldn’t be going up there but the black gasket thing doesn’t seem to be stopping it. Any idea what’s going on?
