Check your filter may need to be cleaned

Clean the motorhead, opens with a coin and the brush comes right out. The stop and start should cease after cleaning out the debris, most likely plugged the intake.

Sounds like you have a bad battery connection.

Are you holding the button down the whole time? It is designed to stop if you let go of the red button in order to save on the battery.
