• This device doesn't work with OTA antenna signals (ATSC). It is designed for demodulating and decoding cable TV signals (QAM). You need the TiVo Edge for OTA (Antenna) instead.

• I think you have to buy the OTA/Antenna version of the unit to record OTA.

• This unit only records/views channels provided by your cable company which means it will get your local network affiliates. This box will not connect straight to an antenna for direct OTA. You need the OTA version of this unit. OTA reception of course depends on your antenna and distance from station broadcast towers. For some reason, TiVo seperated out OTA functions from cable in one box. However, even with the Bolt units that have both OTA and cable capabilities, you only can use one (either all cable channels or just OTA channels).
