A: You need to purchase a subscription for recording..montlhy, annual or 1x charge.
Q: Does this unit come with a Lit up remote? Or is it a plain remote?
A: No, it does not come with a lit-up remote.
Q: witch ota channels are recordable?
A: This device doesn't work with OTA antenna signals (ATSC). It is designed for demodulating and decoding cable TV signals (QAM). You need the TiVo Edge for OTA (Antenna) instead.
Q: Can I use other remotes that aren't tivo to record and use for this product?
A: We use Logitech Harmony remotes to control our TiVo units - a little bit of a learning curve since you may have to scroll to find the equivalent button to the TiVo remote, but they work great.
