Although I can’t 100% say you need to move your connection to a central location. I would say it would work better if you did. I’m still trying to figure out a few things myself. I have my hub in a upstairs closet and my eero has 2 extenders. That seems to work for the most part. But, I may need to add another one.

I have an eero there and one in the kitchen, which is on the opposite side next to the garage. It covers great. House is 3100 sq ft. I do have another eero upstairs but I don't think it's needed really because I never see any devices connected to that one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it doesn’t matter. The app will tell you if your placement is bad too. I did run a cat 6 cable from the modem to the middle of my basement since I had one laying around. Not sure that was necessary.
