“Going to have about 6 people in our house using WiFi for several weeks. Our router is in the basement and can't really be moved easily. Have a couple of Netgear extenders but there is dead spot on second floor. Is mesh system better than extenders.”

I have found it to be much better than an extender. We have a 4000sqft home. The router is on one side of the house and we couldn’t get good WiFi on the opposite side of the house or upstairs. We have 4 eero pros set up and have the best coverage we have ever had.

Mesh is better because it creates a strong signal everywhere. Extenders split your signal decreasing and splitting the speed. We tried eero basic and it didn’t work with MyQ or Xbox but when we upgraded to Eero pro, everything worked seemless and our 5 users with all WiFi devices work great on 25mg WiFi.
