You can eliminate their router and use this system or you can bridge this system to work with your current router. It's your option.

Please try again later.I have Xfinity service and an Xfiinity modem/router combo that sits in front of the EERO system (hardwired) and I use the eero network instead of the Xfinity wifi network. I could also put the XF router in bridge mode to eliminate their wi-fi network. The advantage of the Eero PRO it works across the 3 eero stations to create a wi-fi mesh network all under the same SSID (wifi network name). I had spotty coverage in certain areas of my home that would cause my Echo to be unable to connect or stop streaming. and also streaming issues to an airplay setup. The eero solution eliminated these problems. The eero app is very well done for managing your network - including remotely. Setup was incredibly simple as well. There are other mesh wi-fi options out there but I had been reading good things about the eero. Definitely pricey but it was worth the investment for me.

If so, the modem/router combo does both the connection to the actual internet provider and creating an internal network. The eero would only act as a router to create an internal network and still require you to have a modem.
