“Printing from my Mac provides a good speed UNLESS I'm printing a PDF. This printer is very, very slow printing graphics in PDF documents and jpeg pictures are 2 or 3 minutes for a 4X5 print. My Epson Work Force printer before this one was much faster.”

This likely has to do with the amount of memory in the printer. PDF files are much larger in most cases and can take longer to transfer to the printer. It's also possible that the document is having to be transferred to the printer in chunks due to the amount of memory in the device. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any information on how much memory this product has on Epson's website, so I can't confirm this.
