• I don't believe so. The caps are a sort of rubberized plastic. They make a good seal. They do warn you of transporting the unit(if you move). They supply a travel bag in case of accidental spills.

• This light usage would most likely be a problem for any ink based device. You would be better served by a toner based printer.
