Yes you can charge it with the USB cable that comes with it. The only thing is that you have to take it down in order to do it. If you place it where it gets at least 2 hours of sunlight to charge it, You don't have to charge it manually. As far as how long the charge lasts, it tells you in the instructions. I think it lasts with normal use for about 365 days per the box it comes in.

Generally, the photovoltaic panel swaps to battery discharge when sunlight is insufficient or the photovoltaic input power drops below certain thresholds for more than 10 minutes. Here are situations where the battery will take over: When the photovoltaic input power is less than 20 W for more than 10 minutes. When the photovoltaic power is less than 100 W and the household demand is 100 W greater than the photovoltaic input power for more than 10 minutes. In conditions where neither case is met but urgent battery discharge is needed, you might need to disconnect the photovoltaic panel to prioritize battery usage. Ensure the firmware is up-to-date for optimal performance. For accurately determining how long the charge will last, it depends on the household energy consumption and battery capacity set in the system.
