No. The exterior unit is secured on the inside of the house by the interior unit and there are three screws that go into the interior plate to secure it to the door. It doesn't need any new screw holes in your interior or exterior door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't need to. There is a spot on the mounting plate for an extra screw if your door is non standard thickness just to firm it up, but when I put mine on, I did not need to use them.
