Does the bolt come out on the right side or the left? My door opens to the left, so I need it to come out on the right side of the outside piece. null

The design allows for both right hand and left hand doors. The bolt is notated with an "up" stamp and the mechanism has a locking knob that has emblems on both sides of the interior panel so that you can twist it either clockwise or counter-clockwise to work the bolt.

This deadbolt has a calibrate mode that determines which direction the bolt comes out. It takes but a moment to do the calibration.

You can this Smart Lock either way.

It's interchangeable - can work with either left or right hand opening doors.

My door opens toward the outside (you push it away from you to get out). If I'm understanding you, that would mean that the bolt has to meet the strike plate no matter which side it comes out of, so you would be installing in the direction of your existing bolt and strike plate.
