The Alta does display actual steps and time. Depending on the display option you choose - vertical vs. horizontal - the steps might be abbreviated. So, for example, in the vertical display, 8,100 steps would display as 8.1 K. But, if that's an issue for you, simply change the display mode. The time is clearly and accurately displayed in both modes.

The screen will change from time(digital time) to number of steps to miles to calories burned to active minutes to any alarms you have set up. You can see all this on the Alta and never have to log in on a device.
