No it will be fine I wear mine to work at waste management and it goes under my gloves but you can get a screen protector to prevent scratches mine has helped so much

I don't see how--just put a sweatband over it.

It shouldn't but there are protective screen overlays you can buy. Unless there was a crushing contact right at your wrist, the fit seems pretty durable.

I don't think so. I have hit my screen on my metal bed more times than I care to admit and it is just fine. The screen is really sturdy. I have been wearing it for a month with no scratches.
