• YES. Without adding external fans for airflow, this unit CANNOT be mounted in a built in under counter space reliably.

• Hello, Kris. I will be happy to assist. This FFWC38B2RS is a freestanding not recommended to be installed under a counter. The clearances needed for the wine cooler is 3" on all sides.
