• This model of microwave oven/hood is designed for adaptation to three types of hood ventilation systems. RECIRCULATING — non-vented, ductless. Recirculating requires the use of the Charcoal Filter, which has already been installed in the oven. HORIZONTAL EXHAUST — outside ventilation. VERTICAL EXHAUST — outside ventilation.

• You can reposition the fan to go stright back (outside), stright up (outside), or leave it in the orginal postion and it goes inside throught a charcoal filter. You will need optional hardware to duct the air to outside options.

• Yes it has vertical horizontal and recirculate methods for the fan very easy to hook up

• If I remember correctly, it can vent either way. I do know that mine was installed with venting to the outside.
