A: This model of microwave oven/hood is designed for adaptation to three types of hood ventilation systems. RECIRCULATING — non-vented, ductless. Recirculating requires the use of the Charcoal Filter, which has already been installed in the oven. HORIZONTAL EXHAUST — outside ventilation. VERTICAL EXHAUST — outside ventilation.

A: Good Morning Anonymous, For this particular unit it is require a minimum distance of 30 inches from cooking surface to bottom edge of top cabinet. The recommended clearance for the unit to be installed above the range is a minimum height of approximately 14 5/8 inches. Specifications on clearances can be found in the Owner’s Manual. A: That's only when you are venting out of the top... Their is a metal flapper that you would install for that type of installation.
Q: Microwave installation after taking down hood
A: The unit runs 14.2 Amps max. Most home recepticals are run for 15 Amps so you are at the edge of tripping the breaker. If you have something else on the circuit it could cause the breaker to trip. So you don't necessarily need a dedicated circuit, unlike your refrigerator if it stops not such a huge deal.
