Yes, by default, the device immediately starts recording video when it turns on. It continues recording, overwriting the oldest, non-saved video until it turns off. While recording, the LED is solid red.

Yes, when your memory card is full, it will record over the previous video. If you do not want to lose a particular
event or scene, you save it and then when it loops, it will not write over what you have marked "save."

I don’t know about the rest but the 45 does not. It has its own version, which is having hrs of footage compressed into a couple minutes. Not too useful. I would much rather loop recording.
