• GPS work fine w/o phone. Merely loose: Alexa, have phone texts read on GPS, make calls thru GPS unit, etc.

• The navigation portion of this GPS does not require a connection to a cell phone, but if you want to use the Amazon Alexa features, a smartphone is required.
