• I connect using Bluetooth, my Ford has a factory Bluetooth input. The other option is line in with a headphone jack

• I have the unit plugged into the audio system connected to the car system. It can also play through the GPS speakers once connected to Bluetooth.

• The way it seems to be working for me is it connects to your phone via Bluetooth and then your phone connects to the car for audio. Any sounds from the GPS are redirected to the car from your phone. The unit has no direct connection to the car by itself.
