A:AnswerIt comes with a USB 3.0 cord that works with your computer for original map installs, then they can be updated via Bluetooth. This is the same cord you use in your vehicle with the supplied cigarette to USB adapter. They recommend that you use the adapter. I don't think there would be any problem if the vehicle USB voltage is the same as the adapter voltage. The adapter has some other advantages with like a !/4 plug you can use to connect your vehicle stereo if you can't use Bluetooth. There is another USB port to charge your phone.
