“Can this be charged via usb? I know it comes with a car charger, but a mount I'm looking at - Scosche MAG12V - that plugs into the car charger only has connections for a usb cord, not the GPS car charger. Wondering if it will work? Thanks”

Yes it would, but the problem is, the mobile cord is also the antenna for the Traffic feature. Not sure if there is anything special inside the mobile cord for that. My nuvi 255 had a pod on the cord for traffic. I would post the question on Garmin's site.
