Or would I have to use the Garmin app for tracking? If I switch fitness bands, I would hate to have to switch my tracking App, which is already working so nicely. :)

- Answer No. You do not receive call and text notifications for this product. I'm not sure about more recent versions of the vivofit but this particular one does not.

- Answer Lovely, As no one has answered this question yet and it was showing up under the vivofit section. I haven't had any issues with the band not staying clasped, also they have a slider that goes over the clasp, for want of a better word, to better secure it.

- Answer It does not require a smart phone. You do have to have a computer to do a one time setup and then after that you do not need a computer either. You can read your daily steps via the tracker. If you want to go back and look at past steps you would need a computer or something with internet capability.

- Answer You do not have to have a phone it will save information and you can download whenever but you can see activity on the band anytime.

- Answer This band is the first generation of vivofit, and there is no sound or vibration mode for alarm or reminder. It will display a red line when you haven't walked for an hour and the line will keep extending until you made several steps.
