However it depends on your preference really. ie I mounted mine to my Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro’s cross bar. The cross bar was far too flimsy. So I ordered a more sturdy aluminum replacement off of eBay, along with a moto pumps locking mounting plate. It works much better than the stock set up. But you may want to look into the full “clamping” style security bracket for the unit and the heavy cross bar. I am going that route in the spring. I know it sounds like a lot but it really isn’t. Gather the extra parts and it will mount beautifully. Also I purchased the car windshield adapter set up for it which is super nice (off of Amazon. Nice to know that I can use it all year round.
