A:AnswerHello AER,
Thanks so much for reaching out. Congratulations on the purchase of your new microwave. We hope you get many years of use from it. The paper you are referring to is the cover/wave guide. This needs to stay in place since this helps to disperse the microwaves throughout the cavity. If this is removed, a technician would be needed to make sure that it's replaced properly since it's so close to the magnetron. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us via social media or through our Contact Us page. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHi RogerB! Thanks for reaching out to us. We found that the front of the microwave has a height of 15 11/16" and the rear of it has a height of 16 5/16". These are both approximate measurements. We hope this helps! Emily

A:AnswerHello Lynn - We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your microwave. It would be a pleasure to help you find a replacement. This model JVM6175DKBB is an excellent choice. We do not offer 36" modes any longer but do offer side filler kits for just this situation. The part is JX36BBB and available at Best Buy to cover the extra three inches on both sides. The new model will come with new mounting brackets and serves as the exhaust hood to the cooktop below. Let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA
A:AnswerHello Tucker,

A:AnswerHi MarkD, thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We hope that this is helpful and that you're staying safe. All the best. -Michael
A:AnswerHello jmctsuda,
Thanks so much for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that your microwave died. We know how frustrating that can be. We're happy to help with a recommendation. All our over-the-range microwaves are designed to fit into a 30" cabinet opening. This makes choosing a replacement a breeze. Please note however, that you will need to use the mounting kit that comes with the model. This is because the kit is made specifically for that model. No further modifications should be needed to fit the replacement model. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA

A:AnswerHi, I was charged $139.99 for installation in Sept. 2020. My microwave doesn't vent outside, it may cost more if you have one that vents outside. My old microwave was also a GE and the exact same size so the installers used the existing brackets.
I believe it you put the item in your cart and start the buying process, you will be able to see the installation prices before having to commit to the purchase.
I was also $24.99 to take a way old microwave.
Hope that helps!
A:AnswerHi there Urs,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help. According to the installation instructions, cabinet depth should be at max 13". a 15" cabinet depth requires additional steps and an additional kit (JX15BUMPWW/BB). The distance from the top of the stovetop to the bottom edge of the cabinet needs to be 30" minimum. If not, then this will cause issues due to the heat of the cooktop. You can check the requirements on page 7 of the installation instructions. https://files.bbystatic.com/D8505xASz7TWU7wUCScjfA%3D%3D/9a6f4f78-db19-495a-8a3f-409575e5b928.pdf. We hope this helps. Bet wishes! Mike@GEA
