Q: QuestionMy GE Profile micro wave is 36 in. wide.,including a 6in fill the space plate. It needs to be replaced and the current models are only 30 in. wide. What can I do? Also if the charcoal filter is not replaced when needed, can that shut down the machine.

When replacing a 36" over-the-range microwave, you will also need to purchase a 36" filler kit to allow it to be installed in a 36" cut-out opening. If available, the 36" filler kit will be listed in the product specifications. Model JVM7195SKSS is compatible with Optional 36" Filler Panel Kit JX36BSS (sold separately). The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for ;your existing 30" over-the-range model. Model JNM7196SKSS is a great choice. This model is factory-assembled for recirculating (non-vented) so no conversion is required. Q: QuestionIs the mounting bracket on the very bottom of the microwave? My old microwave is only 15 5/8" tall, and if I have to put a mounting bracket any lower than that it will have to be on top of backsplash.
