  • QuestionI hve to replace my nonfunctioning microwave (GE Profile PEB 1590SM2SS). Are you making this older model anymore? If not, Is this the best replacement for our old microwave. If so, can I use the same trim kit that I used for for it?

GE Profile PEB1590SM2SS is no longer being manufactured. The comparable model is GE Profile™ 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Convection/Microwave Oven Model #: PEB9159SJSS. Trim Kits are not interchangeable. This model is compatible with 27" Built-In Kit JX9152SJSS and 30" Built-In Kit JX9153SJSS (sold separately). This model JES2051SNSS is a counter top only model and not approved for built-in installation. The model that will fit your cabinet cutout without modification is PEB7227ANDD. This will require a new trim kit, as they are made model specific. Trim kit JX7227SLSS is the 27" kit and JX7230SLSS is the 30" trim kit. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - JB

  • Questionwe push the start button, but nothing happens. it does not start. there is no beeping sound. the oven is plugged in, has power..clock works.potato button pressed says FOOD. start button appears not to be spongy when pressed.

    • Answer Hello - Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your microwave. We are sorry to hear of the difficulty you are experiencing and we are glad to assist. This microwave model has a built-in 5-minute internal timer as a safety feature preventing the microwave from cooking without food inside, since doing so can cause the unit to overheat. If food is placed into the cavity before selecting a cooking sequence, opening and closing the door activates the switch, initiating the 5-minute internal timer. The door latch switch must be opened and closed before hitting “START,” which signals the unit that food has been placed inside. The "FOOD" or "Insert Food" message on the display means the microwave thinks food has not been added yet. To correct the issue, open and close the door again and press “START.” We hope that this helped. Thanks for checking. Olga
