The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. To calculate the average water used for a wash cycle, multiply Water Factor x Capacity. The Water Factor (WF) for this model is 6.5 and the capacity is 3.8. This equals 24.7 gallons of water on average will be used per cycle. -Vikki@GEAppliances
